G'day. I recently purchased a Norinco m14. What I want to do is replace the Chu wood stock with a walnut one. I'd like to know is whether or not it's possible to simply swap the NORC stock out for an American walnut stock? Also if someone can steer me in the right direction to acquire a walnut stock that would be appreciated.
Thanks for your time.

You may have to do some minor fitting to the walnut stock, it will depend on who made it, and for what rifle. Some use the stock liner, others don't. The Springfield M1A has a different profile to the bottom edge of the right rail, and that might require some minor cutting of the stock to accomodate the Norinco. As well, you need to build up the part of the stock that retains the op rod spring guide retaining pin.

Check with Boyds and Stocky's stocks for supply.

You could also try "Freds Gunstocks" if you can get him to ship to Canada, he has the best prices and the best selection I've seen!

Got my USGI walnut stock from the EE here on CGN. Fit perfectly, u just need to do the popsicle mod so u don`t lose the hop-rod pin.

Enjoy your Norc!

I got a beautiful USGI M14 stock out of Pennsylvania. I'll try and dig up his email, and I'll PM you if I find it. I couldn't get any of the companies listed above to ship to Canada.

It's worth it! just need to do a little Popsicle mod for the retaining pin.

M14 stocks are M14 parts. M14 parts are restricted for export by the U.S. government. However, M1A stocks are not. There are lots of aftermarket M1A stocks available. None of which are exactly inexpensive.
"...Freds Gunstocks..." I believe a little U.S. government birdie had a quiet word with Fred about his ignoring the export restriction. Don't know for sure. Must have friends in high places.

Dude 9000+ posts and never made a purchase on the EE, I find that strange.
Not trying to railroad your thread or discredit it, I just noticed something different today!!!! Retep.

I know I'm going to get flamed for this..... but... try EBAY.

Got a very nice USGI Walnut and better than expected USGI Fiber via EBAY.

Ask the seller if they will ship to Canada. Some do, some won't.
