I just got my norinco m14 and for some reason it wont chamber a round. The bolt will pick the round up no problem but when it comes foreword to chamber the round it sticks just before twisting in and locking down ( if i smack the bolt handle it will puch foreword and seat properly). I have fully disassembled it and cleaned and re oiled everything but the problem continues, has this happened to anybody else and if so how can i fix it ?.

the ejector is not siezed and the stock is not rubbing. the barrel index looks good, as for the headspace how would i check that.

with a Go gauge "gunsmith" if its to tight it wont lock on the Go

Does your m14 have any mods on it?

Just out of curiosity, you aren't riding the op rod with your hand, are you? Make sure you are just pulling back and letting go. This may seem obvious but...

no its bone stock (just got her today). and yes the mag is seated properly and it will close fine empty. i guess i will have to check out if there are any gunsmiths left in my area.

sorry one more question

do you let the bolt slam close or gentley close it on the live round?

"Yes it is used factory ammo"

What brand of ammo are you using? Pict of ammo?

My guess is its the "used factory ammo" cartridge case size not being full length resized...

RE oiled ?? you should be using GREASE !! not that that is the problem in the case ... See the stickys

could be that it's just stiff -your location says south alta, but where are you specifically- there might be a member close enough to give you a hand

I can't believe nobody said this yet: It's a Norc, what do you expect?:)
Hope you get it straightened out.Let us know what you find.

yea, and a whole lot of those work FINE OUT OF THE BOX- norc "quality' DOES NOT APPLY to the m14s
