ahh if thats how ye are. I bought my first a couple years ago and sold it a few months after that. The plastic stock and a few things turned me off......

Then I bought a shorty.....USGI stock, bedding, bipod mount, adjust the gas, scope mount, etc...etc....

working on cars always turns into work for me. But I have had a damn swell time working on this thing. so yeah if you like to tinker theres toooons to do and lots of m14 #### on forums for ideas.

I was going to get a remington 700 sps but a surprise opportunity for some geese hunting in fall came up, so now I'm just going to go do some 'cheap' tinkering with my Norc so I can amuse myself and put some funds away for a shotgun. Going to attempt stiffening up my norc stock for the time being with some arrow shafts down the side and fiberglass down the bottom as a practice run before I do it to a USGI stock. CASM and Bushnell Elite Tactical 10x40mm and I got myself a little toy to play with for half the cost of what I was going to pour into a 700 sps :cool:
 
Wow am I the only one that puts 300-400 rnds down range in a good summer? Guys act like the barrel is going to shoot out if you use it. The more you use it the better you get at it, everything else is gravey.

Your right. Seems like pple don't put too many rounds thru em...but that cant be, theyre such a giggle to shoot LOL
I know they are a pig to feed but I roll my own and have well over 1500 rds thru it including 400 just to try and break my Crapco 305 chassis since the fall. 8lb of H4895 and 1000 150 FMJBTs on the way for the warm weather. I just cant take less than 80 rds to the range. Then I switch over to the old SKS and come away feeling all is well with the world for another week at least LOL
 
Jeez, if I see another "Should I get a Norinco M14" thread, I swear I'm going to throw a conniption fit!!!
Of course you should get both a long & short Norinco M14, and if you can afford it, get an SA M14 too!

Ok ok, this is what it is;

You could spend $400 in a much more worse fashion. Just look around, go shopping!, and see what $400 doesn't get you. Anything like an M14 knock-off is three to five times the price (nonrestricted 'battle' rifle, a la Swiss Arms...

If you think you ever would want spare parts the least expensive way is to buy another one. Spare EVERYTHING. What more could you want! Even the mythical USGI bolt could cost you near to $300, if not the full $400... my numbers right there, fellows? ...trigger group, op rod... full set!

I haven't had to replace anything. I have found a load for it (browse the crap out of his website for that info) and I stretch my shooting dollar by using handloads. I've bought a few more mags.... but the gun works fine.

Buy one. Remember, only the bad news makes the rounds.

Or don't buy one... ...one more for me, ha HA

I do already have a 22" that I'm tinkering around with. Simply a question of whether or not I'll one day get a shorty to keep it company ;)
 
i couldn't resist either. I ended up buying a full length to keep the shorty company.

for $400 each, it was hard not to buy a third :p
 
Compare to other $450 NR semi 308/7.62 with irons that shoot 3 MOA out of the box and can be built to any level depending on your budget. Oh, thats right, there isn't one. (SVT40 doesn't have the aftermarket support) Yes, you can buy a Springfield with better machining and finishing. Owners of those tell of similar accuracy as a Norc but at least 5X the money.
