I was wondering if anyone had the dimentions or a blueprint or specs to the original Full Auto Selector switch so I can manufacture a DUMMY replacement. The Dummy ones u can buy seem to be non-exportable from the USA due to starting their life as a real USGI full auto selector. I just wanna mill up a dummy one outa aluminum to fill that unsightly hole on the right side of my rifle.

There's a thread on here somewhere about building one....
Brownells can export the fulton one. I've got a couple on some builds.

Here's some close up pics from when I rigged mine up.

If you put an add on the EE you may find the connector arm and if really lucky the rest of the parts for a shaft lock unit (from old Israeli M14's here in Canada). Just chop the selector shaft and fab up a bracket to mount it in the selector cut out.

If you want the actual full auto switch that may be very difficult as there are very few around.

Hope this helps.

I did this Mod on the last M14 shorty I built............it adds that missing piece to the puzzle........;)

Mine was made from USGI selector kit...............I also used the stock Norinco op rod............with a little help from Mr. die-grinder and a little Dura-coat.......:D

Take you time with the fitting and everything will look good......

a little bird told me that someone out there is attempting to make the full dummy selector kit in Canada....... when i get the sample to test, I'll share my findings. Not sure when they said it would be done...... but when it arrives I'll be sure to spread the word

I would definitely love to get a dummy selector kit some time in the future, so a Canadian made kit would be great.

I just may get one from Brownell's sometime. I didn't realise anyone could export Fulton's products, so this is excellent news to me.:D

I ordered one yesterday - just got notification that it shipped today.

SOB, I'm kind of suprised they would ship that! Had a heck of a time getting my hands on one two years ago.

Be aware that you need to push the switch in to rotate it. If you don't you WILL break it, like I did mine. If it does not want to rotate, don't force it.

Thanks for the tip GNMonty. Actually I am a bit surprised it shipped - heck they declined to ship my Magpul (plastic) stock set which, fortunately, someone else did.

Also, mind your fingers when racking the op rod, otherwise it's "coolness" will wear off very fast. It gets in the way sometimes.

Well, my dummy selector arrived safe and sound - no fuss no muss. Looks like it will take a little work to make it fit but it should be no problem with a dremel. Looks like a 10 min job this weekend.
