Hi ALL
I have an interesting effect on my M14s:
Extraction works just fine with any ammo, while milsurplus ammunition (Spanish, Portugese and Norc) fails to feed a round.

It improved a lil' after I have removed
recoil buffer (Marstar's). Now it fails to feed 4 round out of five only ;).

At the same time, Remington's (150gr and up) hunting PSP ammo extracts and feed like a charm, with 100% success rate.

It seems to me like it started happening after I installed Marstar's spring guide and USGI fiberglass stock...

Any advise how to fix that will be appreciated.

Ack. I just installed the Marstar Spring guide and Recoil buffer. Were you having issues before you put these in? I haven't gotten to the range yet to try it out.

Sorry if I was unclear. I chaged spring guide, stock and installed recoil buffer before I've noticed the problem.
There was no issues in original configuration. I

for V1.....how did you install the swivel for the bipod??? does it touch the gas system??? when did you clean the gas system last time???
regards
Kot
P.S.: put everything back and try to fire the rifle with milsurplus :):)

Hi Kot
Well it might work with old stock, but I don't want it back... since old stock is your's as of last week! ;)
Gas system is OK. Swivel does not touch anything, and, normal extraction and 100% normal operation with commertial ammo tells me that problem lies somewhere else. Feel free to correct me.

Sorry did not get your point. Yes it feeds commertial ammo just fine with new spring guide and USGI stock. I have problem with milsurplus ammo only, regarless of ammo's origin.

Thanks, everything was perfectly clean and tight... Did you have normal extraction with no feeding, too?

OK I will give it a try in a week... Next my Fri off.

no.. what I had was a case of the bolt catching the shell on its way out.

Amusing, yes, but not something I want to see happen twice.

failure to feed

I have had this problem with norinco ammo sometimes does not chamber the next round. also dry fires on a cambered round. maybe 1 in 20. i have not as yet tried any other ammo. also cleaned and lubed every thing and checked the gas plug. adding marstars op rod spring guide and recoil buffer made no difference. 2 out of 4 mags seem better though maybe a mag problem?

Mine was doing the same thing yesterday, my gas plug was really loose. I will be giving it a try tomorrow to see if it is fixed. If it's not, I will be trying some USGI mags if I can ever find em. If that doesn't help, I will be taking it back to P&D

Well the fact that certain types of ammo work OK tells me mags are not issue in my case. But thanks for sharing your experience anyway

Hi Big Mike....what was the solution for that problem??? I have the same, still not fixed :(
thanks

My gas nut was really loose, plus it didnt hurt to clean the gas system a little bit :)

Well folks the mystery is now resolved.
I changed spring guide back to Norinco's original and got back my semiauto with any ammo. Yahoo!

It sucked to have an awkward bolt action rifle extracting spent cases but not feeding new cartrige. Bang-Pull-Release-Bang-Pull... Feh.

My guess is t that Marstar's spring guide is lil' too tight fitting for my spring, when I have time I will thin it a bit.
