Hello fellow NUTZ

sorry to say that I have a coupla problems with my 2011 shorty from CanAm.
I have been mining this forum for the same problems for hourZzzzz...
needing opinions/suggestions..please.

When I first got the rifle (last week) I stripped her down, ( this is when I found that the gas plug is tough to unscrew...tight-free_tight-free_etc. until it is removed )
cleaned it up, oiled it where it pivots and greased where it slides, left the gas system dry and clean.

Tilt tested...Assembled ...and the gas plug was still giving me a crooked fit after everything was properly aligned....?
I unscrewed the gas cylinder lock and screwed the gas plug into the gas cylinder, it threads smooth but the plug is still bent/crooked ?

The gas plug itself looks straight, I think either the gas plug Norinco threading is botched or the gas cylinder Norinco threads are.
When it is tightened I can see that the plug does not sit flush to the clylinder lock....so I have to torque it down pretty good to seal...me no likey.

Several days later I had some time to exercise it at the range (50 rounds). Fired like a real beauty *PING* awesome
...even with the barrel slightly out of index ( needs a slight tightening ) I was getting on small target using the irons at 50m.

I did have a few FTF..like the bolt not returning far enough back to strip a round?
Now the only thing I can find that may be binding the bolt, is the hammer too high?, or the inside of the reciever does not have enough clearance for the bolt to clear between the two...?..need a shave?

do I need to replace the gas cylinder?...and if that is true I'm going to have to remove the FH ( light welded ) to do this...and shop for pricey parts..what a PITA

I said earlier that she's a beauty...but so was my ex...she fired alright but she could'nt always strip a round off me.

Thanks for your gun empathy.

Is there a Doctor in the house?!

I can't comment on the rest but the Norinco ammo had both of mine short stroking.
Sadlak guide and USGI spring(they were already in the long barrel and it didn't work well) got my shorty to cycle perfectly with it.
Try other ammo before you worry about this problem.
