I recently picked up a Versa-pod adapter for the M1A, that is designed to replace the original gas plug with a spud that the bipod then snaps onto. In attempting to install it on my Norinco, I find that the threads are slightly different, enough so that installation is impossible.
Does the Norinco have metric threads, as opposed to the Springfield's SAE threads? Or am I missing something here? Could the threads on the adapter possibly be re-cut with a die to the correct pitch and thread?
Any information or educated guesses would be appreciated.
John
