Looking for a fix if needed. The M14S shoots fine
about 1500rds downrange but the bracket that
supports the oprod is loose,it can be moved side
to side on the on the barrel. There is no damage
but I would like to know if it is possible tighten it
up.Oprod is not perfectly centered in it any more,
wants to run down one side but slides freely. Is it
possible the roll pin needs replacing? The groove it
sits in is not worn(yet)LOL Any advice would be
muchly appreciated.Thanks 375rum

I think if you search you can find posts about this fix. One is to peen/flare out the pin and make it a tighter fit. Marstar also has an oprod replacement 4 sale right now.

A few solutions for you. Do you want the cheapest or the most solid ?

Cheapest Fix:

Go to Home Depot, buy a shztload of various sized roll pins
Go home and drive out the old roll pin, replace with a larger one while using BFH (big hammer)

More Complex Fix:

Roll pin replacement as mentioned above, but now... RED Loctite the op rod guide on the barrel.

Super Expensive Fix:

Buy a knurling tool (Around $ 200 USD) and knurl the contact area where the op rod guide interfaces with the barrel, RAISE the metal by knurling a few times around the barrel, then secure with the TWO methods ABOVE!!!

There ya go....

Does that help ?

Last Fix, but it's permanent.... Spot MIG Weld the op rod guide to the barrel. Works, but it's ugly. It ain't going anywhere. This method may fzck up your barrel depending on duration the MIG / TIG welder is contacted. I'm not a welder, so don't expect great details from me.

I've only done the THREE fixes ABOVE in the past.... All with great success!!

Cheers,
Barney
