I'm posting for a friend of mine who lacks internet access... Anyway, he just got his M14 the other day and I went over to take a look at it. To make a long story short, we disassembled/cleaned/reassembled the gun and now the action will no longer fit properly into the stock.
The receiver area gets stuck about 5mm up from being flush with the stock at the rear, and it's noticeably tilted to the right when looking down the gun from the back. It can be forced in but this results in the op rod rubbing pretty hard into the stock and a large gap between the op rod and the handguard.
Now we both noticed that taking the stock off the first time was very difficult (as was removing the gas nut, much more so than it was on my own M14). Is it possible we could have bent the stock or action somehow? What do you guys suggest?
