M16 22

My friend has just received an Armi Jager ap74 that looks exactly like an M16 complete with full size mag (to hide the skinny 22 size),extra large hand guard, bull barrel, carry handle sights,pistol grip, horizontal charging handle and fake gas tube. On looking into this model we found it to be restricted on the Gov. list. The barrel and overall length are within the parameters of the non restricted laws yet it is restricted. I can only guess that due to the fact it looks like a black rifle and semi evil , they've bumped it out of the non rest. area. Any body know of this model? thanks Pete

The Armi Jaeger was considered to be an AR variant, so is restricted and subject to the same controls as any other restricted. If you search you will find other posts about them. Some folks like them, some don't. Can only be fired with an ATT, of course.

Thanks Tiriaq. I figured it had to be something like that. Looks nice though. It needs a mag and a cleaning and has a few scratches. Any idea on price for a used one? Thanks Pete
