Freedom is not needing to.... We can walk around with a rifle as well....

Its funny that so many people like to complain about Canada, but our quality of life is not even comparable.

But hey, it's easy to complain when you have no frame of reference.

That is not freedom, that is life in a war torn country.

What Daver said.. I much rather live here, than there.

Well to be fair, maximum freedom would exist within anarchy. But I agree with the rest of the posters, people who have never been outside of fortress North America have no idea how bad things can get.

Hi,
Completely agreed with your second point. Far too many people living in North America have very little idea about what life can be like in different places. This is the reason that I can get very frustrated when I hear or read people pissing on Canada. Particularly if they were born or choose to live here. The calls of perceived tyranny here in Canada are, in my view, grossly misplaced.

I believe that here in Canada, we enjoy freedoms that our ancestors may never even have conceived of.

I would also like to disagree with one point that you made. In my opinion, anarchy affords freedom only for those equipped to defend it. I personally believe that an anarchic society will not result in the most freedom possible, for as many people as possible. I view anarchy as a possible solution if and only if our thinking, as a collective species, can handle that level of freedom. If enough of us cast aside authoritarian beliefs, and if we as a species truly accept the idea of everyone having equal rights and freedoms, then, anarchy could make sense.

However, I find that too many people care about their freedom, but not that of others. At the risk of starting an argument, it's how I see people who will not get a COVID vaccine. These people care about their their right to decide, while disrespecting the rights of others to not be exposed to a virus you may carry as a result of not being vaccinated.

Cheer,
Neil

If those at risk are all vaccinated, what are they being exposed to?

1) If it's not an effective vaccination, then it doesn't work and I don't want it injected into me.

2) The pharma companies keep cashing in on those planned booster shots, I'm not playing along.

3) If you're concerned, you're free to mask up or keep your distance.

I see where you're coming from, but the reasons above are what compels my opinion.
