Finally finished my M1919 spade grips. Got them back from Arma-coat this last week. They look good and work great, easy to rapid fire the old belt fed. Unfortunately my welder used some sort of alloy rod so the welds didnt completely take the parkerizing. Oh well still looks good and the wood grips I had built match the front wood carrying handle decently.

Nice setup!:)

Did you design those grips yourself, or modify some from an M2?

BTW, what caliber is the gun chambered for?

I think a 7.62x39mm conversion would be pretty cool for one of those.

At least then it wouldn't cost so much to shoot.

Mines in .7.62x51 The grips came as a do it yourself kit that a guy that sold me the gun had bought from somewhere but hadnt assembled yet. I would die for a 7.62x39 conversion. Barrelxchange makes a kit in the US but apparently it cant be imported and the 7.62x39 cant use the same belts or links as the .308-30-06 so it means nylon links that can only be assembled into 5 round belts. When I put on the spade grips I also added a longer charging handle. It looks better in my opinion that the short bell shaped handle that the gun came with.

I like the look of the spade grips better too.

Too bad about the belt restriction for the 7.62x39mm, they even offer one with the kit.

I suppose you already know that you can get a 7.62x54R conversion that utilizes the original belts.

I am going to be making my own set of spade grips for my 1919. I already have a stubby backplate, that does not have a pistol grip, for the project. Already sent the drawings out to a local company to have the parts laser cut for me.

Will post some pictures when they are done.
