I finally got the go ahead to purchase my dream gun a M1919.. Where would the best place to purchase one from? I know tna has one for sale but looking for different options before i pull the trigger. Any info would help. Thx Burt

One of my shooting friends had an M1919A4 that hated steel cased Barnaul. The only ammo it liked was NATO spec 7.62 ball. Be prepared to shoot only the best.

I have fired LOTS of machine guns in my time and for the life of me I just don,t "get it" what these semi auto bullet hoses are all about. Not trying to turn anybody off of what they wish to pursue but working the trigger to create a series of bangs and holes in paper a couple hundred meters down range is not my cup of tea.

I have seen a semi 1919A4 devour Chinese steel cased spam can bulk pack; have also heard of another which was a single shot with the same ammunition.
You won't know until you try.
Buck-a-bang gets expensive.

So you don't understand why people shoot semi-autos? Why are you even on this website then?

They are sweet guns and an absolute blast to shoot
They go through tons of ammo very quickly and reloading is your best bet
The 1919s are oal sensitive so reloading is the way to go, you can tailor the rounds to work perfectly in the gun
The mg34 is another one that is fun to shoot
The belt fed guns are getting harder to find and becoming more expensive so if you want one get it while you can

Stop being so obtuse Tarrantula, if you actual read what I wrote I have no problems with others buying a overpriced SA (new built) belt fed, owned more then a few open bolt firing CA MG-34 that was nice to spend time plinking and fired lots of MG while in uniform. I am a huge Bren gun fan and miss taking them out even if SA.

I had one which I converted to that Swede 8mm that marstar was practically giving away. Prior to that, it was near impossible to get it running properly. But I made a sloppy chamber on the 8mm barrel and it would go through belts like a knife thru hot butter. When I sold it off, it came with a little over 20,000 rounds of ammunition, most of it on belts. I miss that gun. Always said it was about the most fun you could have in Canada with your pants still on. I used to use it in some of the milurp matches. The round a second would un-nerve and distract the other teams from their lane of targets.

These days, however, the writing is on the wall that these guns are in the crosshairs of the current government. I would not sink the asking amounts ($10K+) on one, knowing it is a pen-stroke away from becoming either a safe-queen or outright ban.
