Hello, I was wondering if any AR types have run this ammo before. I usually shoot AE.223. I have a few boxes of the M193 and haven't tried the actual 5.56 round. My ARs are stamped 5.56. Any noticable difference in the two types? Thanks

You'll likely notice there is a bit more pop, the rounds are hotter. There will be less drop if you've dialed in your scope for the .223. Also, the crimped in primers are an extra step to deal with if you reload. Nice find though, since the Yanks stopped exports of 5.56mm it's gotten pretty rare up here.

in the US they no longer sell surplus. as long as the war is on, the factory never has any overruns. since it is only 55gr anyways, the price should be about the same a commercial 223.

unless you have a few cases, i wouldn't bother shooting it .just keep it for a conversation piece.

I'll sell my remaining Q3131 for $50 a box. ;)

We can find it, just can't import it.

My personal 62gn and 55gn 5.56mm are all handloads these days.

Sorry :(

q3131 and 3131a are milspec. From what I gather on arfcom, one is made in the us, and one is made in israel. both are sold by winchester olin.
