Hey Guys,
I am importing a couple Johnson M1941 magazines (the usual 10 rnd "half moon" magazines) and before I do, I'd like to confirm that these need to be pinned to 5 rounds?

I read through the exemptions and I sadly don't see the M1941 listed.

These are NOS and I want to be 100% before letting bubba touch them.

Any help in pointing out something I may have missed would be appreciated.

As far as I know here is no exception for the Johnson like there is for the Garand. If they are not pinned before import into Canada there is a good chance they could be seized.

You may also be charged with importation of a prohibited device in addition to having the mags seized. Be careful about this.

The answer is not in the Criminal Code but the CBSA's bulletins. I read them a while back and found their interpretation of the Criminal Code was more restrictive. Almost like they didn't want to be taken advantage of by someone trying to import things. It was in there and hard to find, but (and don't quote me) I remember reading that they wanted imported loose magazines to be welded to zero rounds - just in case and just because.

Suggest you contact sponsor IRUNGUNS for their help. This is something they know much much more about than a guy who once read something and half remembers it.
