I have a family member willing to sell a M1954 Mexican Mauser in 30.06 for pretty cheap. It's pretty grimy and has some dents but I think it'll clean up nice. Problem is that it's hard to find info on value or if there's much of a market for them. If it's not worth much, I'll buy it, but if it has any real value, I'll encourage him to sell it to someone willing to pay. Any help would be great. Thanks.

It's almost impossible to tell you sight unseen.

These rifles are made up on small ring 98 actions and are very strong.

A lot of them were torn down and turned into some very nice sporters.

I probably can't get pics as the gun isn't in my possesion and I can't see what the bore is like, it's too dirty. I couldn't even see the crest until I rubbed a bunch of grime off. At least the grime is oily so it should be protective. I guess I'll have to buy it so I can give her a good cleaning and a photo shoot. Darn.
