I'm trying to fit an archangel stock on a norinco m14 and absolutely cannot get the trigger guard to lock up. I've followed all the filing and sanding tips from another thread but still can't get it to go. Is there anyone else here who's had a tough time with this and finally got it to fit? Any more advice?

1. Did you make a groove on the right side to fit the chinese receiver as it is shaped different ? Make sure the receiver is sitting flush against the stock on the side and at the rear of the heel of the receiver .

ONLY AFTER getting the stock to fit like mine in the pics above if it still wont allow the trigger gaurd to close then a little material can be removed from the trigger pad area and under the front of the trigger guard .Remove a little at a time until the trigger guard will close and ensure the trigger test after assembly is done. VERY IMPORTANT this test is done and the rifle passes the test.

I cut the groove like that but not the full 6.25in maybe that's why it won't lock up. I did it like the guy on the thred "m14doctor" I think, just the last 1.50in. I'll try this now and see, thanks for the advise.

It has to be that long ..check out the bottom right side of your receiver..its cut at an angle which the american versions dont have and thats why the groove has to be cut that long. IVO are you familiar how to do the trigger test after assembly ?

I'm assuming that the trigger test is make sure it works, test the safety? If I'm missing something please explain this is my first m14 and want to be safe of course.

Lol haven't used a dremel yet just files and knife, but plenty of test fitting and lots of frustration!

trigger test after assembly

1.#### the action let bolt go forward and confirm safety works .
2.Take safety off and fire the action.
3.Keep trigger to the rear and #### the action.Keep trigger to the rear and let the action go forward .
4.Ensure hammer doesnt follow bolt forward .
5.Release trigger and you should hear a click and then pull trigger and hammer should be released.

Out of battery firing (slam firing) can occur if this is not checked .
