M1A Loaded SS Forward Mount

Hi,

I finally put my hands on an M1A, Loaded, Stainless Steel barrel. My goal is to both hunt and shoot with it and I'm wondering if any of you know about forward mounts for this specific model. I only find that fit the Scout and SOCOM.

So far, everything is pointing toward this :/

I wrote this post hoping someone would come up with a savvy solution. Apparently, Loaded's are meant for conventional mounting. I read one article (can't remember the source) where a guy used a Dremel to file down a mount enough to accommodate the larger barrel. It didn't feel like a good idea...

As for the pic, I'll gladly post some this weekend :D
 
Sage EBR stock.
The new 5 screw arrangment will fit a medium profile barrel.
There is a Canadian dealer, check Sages website.

Is the handguard mount as stable as a barrel mount? Does mounting a forward rail to the barrel mess with the accuracy?

I'd wish to keep to my walnut stock. Thanks for the tip though, if it ever breaks I'll probably switch to SAGE.

Unfortunately, it isn't suited for mounting on a non-small weight barrel.

Did you get it from epps ? Because I got the other loaded they had in stock ;)

Will only fit standard barrels.



The vltor rail wont fit either, that sucks I will have to sell the thing.

Medium barrels make the rifle heavy enough anyway.
 
So basically if you go medium barrel M1A you can never turn it into a scout? That sucks, I always wanted a 14 pound scout rifle

I get your point! Forward mounting is an appealing solution to me. I also very much liked the longer heavier 22" Loaded setup and am not looking into going to Scout ever. I don't know what keeps the shop from machining a Loaded-friendly mount... I'll go read that sticky post about mounts again.
