buy cheap, waste your money, get frustrated, and after you get over your denial, buy sadlak. read the instructions many times, not all commercial recievers are up to spec for the mounting grooves, then you won't look back.

I had a Promag ARMS clone in the past, and found it to be very good. If I could find one used I'd jump on that. The Sadlak looks great, but the price pretty much puts that one out of the running. I guess it's going to be between a used Promag/ARMS, or a CASM.
 
The promag/ARMS 18 mounts also require an in-spec vertical slot on the receiver side wall to install correctly. A high enough percentage of Norinco receivers have this machined incorrectly that I would never guarantee to someone an ARMS style mount will fit their gun out of the box. The Bassett mount is similar in this respect.

The CASM mount avoids those issues, but has its own pros/cons. If you do go CASM, consider getting the steel one, it's more durable and less likely to flex.
 
When I got my M-305, it came with a free, basic UTG scope mount... problem is that the whole mount was cockeyed 10 degrees to the left as the side of the mount was didn't fit the grooves on the receiver, making it virtually unusable.
I'm heading to a Cabelas to "scope" out a new one, but I don't want to end up buying a mount that has the same problem. Would I be able to get mine fit tested, or are there adjustable mounts available that I don't have to worry about testing?

I have a Sadlak aluminum mount that is cockeyed the same way, every shot was off I tried to trade it away again but I couldn't
 
Have a look at the B- Square mount..It doesn't need the receiver groove.
Just make sure you retighten adjustment screws as they may tend to loosen after shooting
the screws will settle in after a few retightnings
