Now, before I get flamed...... I just want to know if we can get the 30rd mags pinned for 5 rd of course. Reason, just like our friends with the AR-15 30rd mags, you can rest them on the ground and have good sight picture during Service Rifle Matches. The M305 20rd mags that I currently have are just a tad low....
the 2.5 in more would be about the right hight.

Just wondering ok.....Anybody in the supply chaine care to comment pls.

:D

I'm not in the supply food chain but...

Wouldn't they distort from the recoil? I can see it on a .223/5.56 platform but the .308/7.62 platform has much more recoil. I don't know if the magazine or the magazine latch would hold up reliably with that type of punishment.

I just noticed on another thread that you will be using a muzzle brake. So the recoil problem shouldn't apply. So I shall amend my post by saying that I do not think it would be a good idea for non-muzzle break platforms.

All of my CMI 25 round M14 mags function perfectly.
I've never had any luck with 30 round M14 mags though...

H2O MAN, we must have our mags pinned for a 5 rd maximum. Would love to have 25 or 30 rds for Service Rifle Matches, again resting the bottom of the mag on the ground is the new directive for shooting in my Reserve Unit, more ppl qualify this way every year at the ranges.

:D

Ok so I looked up the CMI 25rd mags, they are the same leng as 30rd AR-15 mags. Now if I was to order some from our neibor down south, how should I proceed. Should I order the mags in individual pieces....... This way once the main piece (shell) gets here I can have it pinned to 5rd and then assemble the rest of the pieces.......

Just a though.....;)

it'll get stopped at the border- more than one poster here has tried to do the mag tube thing- i've got 4 sitting in my junk box waiting for new tubes as the lips are worn out- the tubes were dead cheap, but getting them through the border is a different matter- the only way i've even HEARD of it being done is buying the mag in the states and having it pinned in the appropriate manner BEFORE it hits the border and now there's the ban on shipping ALL M14 PARTS outside the us- in short, you CAN'T do it
