Hello, I am new on here. I am looking for an adjustable gas plug for my M1A project I am working on.
So far I have only found one manufacturer, Schuster, who makes an adjustable gas plug for M1A's. However, due to them "not being registered with the US Department of Defence" no one can ship those out of the USA. Also, after contacting American Border Services, it would also be illegal to have one sent to an American box number and then physically bring it across the border.

Is there any other options for an adjustable gas plug in Canada? Or do I have to try and make my own?

Lance.

I have a Norinco M305. I ordered all the USGI parts from Brownells. The Schuster plug isn't illegal in Canada. It's illegal to ship it out of the USA due to the manufacturer not being registered with the US Department of state.
Brownells' website shows it is available outside the USA...but in fact it is not.

Is there any other manufacturer that makes an adjustable gas plug for an M1A.

BTW, American border officer was not phased when I said M14. I realize they seem to be called M1A/M14/M305 interchangeably.
Mine is in fact an M305...but I've done major upgrades to it.
Adjustable gas cylinder is the last on the list. Might have to look into making/building my own as a regular gas plug is easy to get from Brownells and they are fairly cheap.

M-14 parts are restricted for export by the U.S. State Dept.(Commerce deals with the exporter's licence. Ain't the same thing, but just as daft.), regardless of who made 'em. The Schuster plug is a waste of money anyway.
