M1A National Match value?

it has the TRW bolt, what appears to be a usgi oprod ect
USGI military surplus M14 parts are highly favoured in this platform

have a look at the oprod, trigger housing and hammer, the bolt we can see in the pics, they will have identifying numbers/letters , part number/manufacturer. the usgi manufacturers TRW , HR, SAK , Winchester and the us military springfield armory (not to be confused with springfield armory inc )

From the sounds of it, buying it from him for 2g would of been a rip off, and I couldn't do that to him.
I didn't want to take it apart, so I gave it back to him. I showed him this thread and told him to take his rifle apart to see how many USGI parts it has.
So last night he stripped it down and took pics. Turns out all the parts are USGI. Everything was marked TRW, and one other part was marked HR. I don't remember off the top of my head what was marked HR.
Needless to say I won't be picking it up for $2000 anymore. :(

So knowing all the parts are USGI, what would you say this rifle is worth?

The parts don't make it that much more valuable when compared to the same grade of M1A , it's just more desireable that's all.
Certainly shouldn't affect the pricing of your deal as far as that goes.

I bought my national match with a stainless barrel last year brand new for $2499 US than taxes and shipping and I don't care what anyone says its a dam fine rifle!!! deadly accurate and every time I hear that ping it makes me smile but when he had it apart was the stock bedded? because all NM are bedded

Yes. It is glass bedded.

Interesting. So what is it that makes the USGI parts more desirable? Just that its "mil spec"?

Milspec, that's correct. Call it peace of mind hehehe.
Maybe it's all mystique and prestige LOL but nice to have a g.I. parts rifle nonetheless ;)
Others opinions may vary.

I couldn't find any canadian prices on a new Nation Match. But they sell for roughly $1800-$1900 US. That came out to around $2300 CDN. I know that doesn't include what it cost to import. So I still don't have a good # to go off.
I know what he really wants is $2500, I think he'd sell it to me for $2000 though.

Just got new National Match with syntethic stock for $1699 US plus $152 CAD in taxes and delivery charges from Irunguns. This is $2365 CAD in total. If this was a brand new one, $2k would be a good deal. Otherwise it depends...
