What is the deal with these guys who just can’t resist the temptation to correct every single CGN post where a guy calls his rifle an M14 when it’s really an M1A or M305, M21, M25, M39 or whatever other designation? There is at least 12 other names for variants of the M14 depending on the configuration and manufacturer so why the insistence on the correction to the M1A?
If it was not made by Springfield it’s not and M1A and even if it was and someone called it an M14, we get it don’t we?
I mean seriously dudes… Is there anyone here who does not get it by now?
Ya ya ya we all know the “real” M14 is full auto… so what, we don’t have one!!
When we nonmilitary CGNers say M14 it’s pretty safe to assume it’s not full auto so why the irresistible urge to correct every single person on the point?
Show of hands…
When you read M14 in a CGN post and automatically assume it is full auto … raise your hand.
If your hand is up right now, you need to seek professional help.
We can start right here for those of you with your hands still up. M14 roughly translates to M14ish, meaning it looks like an M14 with the naked eye from 200 yards away and 95 percent of the parts are interchaneable. Let’s just call it gun slang. A grammatical correction is not required.
Can you please try to remember that?
