M1A or Norinco M305

Any idea what a package of parts for an M-14 would be worth? I don't know if the receiver is repairable...a 'gunsmith' botched it, but I have all the other parts that could be stripped out of a 'prohibited class' M-14.

Seriously though, check what ARMTAC lists a USGI parts kit for. Note is has no barrel or bolt.
Then go to treelinem14.com and look at what a full kit runs and add the U.S/Canadian exchange.
Off the top of my head a FULL parts kit less receiver, stock and magazine included, 1500.00 to 1750.00 if parts are excellent condition.
Others might disagree.
I personally pay 1000.00 for a decent parts rifle, no more.

The archangel stock can be used with a heavy contour
Does anyone know anything about it? Is it a good stock?
I'm asking because I could only source a 22" in heavy contour. In medium contour I could only find 18.5, ss or cm.
Btw, is there too much performance difference between 22 and 18.5?

I have a krieger ss 22" medium and a krieger 18.5" medium
They are equally as "accurate" , one is just capable of reaching out further than the other.
I haven't gone the heavy barrel route myself so can't speak to that first hand.
I will say that if you plan to field the rifle, as in hunting ect, you might find the medium 18.5" to be preferred.
They do add weight to the rifle.

I am sure there are quite a few people who would want the parts off the rifle, myself included. lol
I don't hunt yet, just got my license, but it is hard to find a group willing to accept a new hunter.....almost giving up.
So the rifle will be for range use, and maybe in the future I could take it on a hunt.

I have not, not directly but I have been informed as such in my email enquiries , as I do own an LRB. I've received the same info you have from several reliable sources.
Hopefully these companies can find outfits with deep enough pockets to open warranty/distribution in canada.
I might even apply for a job on the m14 tools again if someone where to start such a shop hehehehe

Well I'm glad you found that out from Lou. I can't believe so many M14 rifles up here from both manufactors
and no warranty center

You want to start a shop?
Been there done that. For several years I operated Canada's only dedicated M14 type rifle service shop, custom composite stocks as well. I would not be willing to invest my money in a warranty center for LRB or springfield BUT I'd make myself availlable for hire if the location was not in a major urban center and I didn't have the headache of running the show.
After my current comittments to my friend's company are satisfied, I'm planning to go back to semi retirement and custom composites rifle stocks. Zero plans to open my own smithing shop in the near or distant future.

I have my Norc M305 and shoot it often and enjoy it for what it is. Having that said, I also have a good friend of mine who owns a Springfield M1A Match rifle. Having the two side by side at the range takes only a few minutes to determine these are NOT the same rifle. It only takes 20 shots to understand why one rifle is vastly superior to the other.
I don't have time right now, but I'll be dumping the Norc for the new Springfield in the near future. This is a case where You DO get what you pay for.
