M1A or Norinco M305

first, you need to see HOW the rifle shoots- some of these norcs shoot pretty well right out of the box- others with a little tuning and LOAD DEVELOPMENT , can be made into tac drivers- the thing is to buy one, DEFINE what you're going to use it for, and then seek advice on the forums and stickies as to what mods you need to make- case in point- I have 3 m14s- all wear harris bipods, 2 have 4x12 scopes, one has a 3x9x32- the 4x12s are 40's and one has a folding stock- that's my bush rifle- the one m14 is sighted into 600 yards, and the other I want to do 1k- 1000 yards- that means different bullets(the 600 yard uses 168 smks) 175 grain smks, a sadlak piston, and probably shimming/welding the gas system-reminds me very much of what we used to do to cars back in the days of holleys, header, and intakes- and NO springfield armory factory job is going to be anywhere near the likes of what barney( tactical teacher) or 45acp king or oldsmobiler can/used to provide

I went with a SA M1A Loaded, I love this thing, my plan is to leave this one with iron sights and pick up a norinco to scope and mess around with.
Either way this platform is so much fun you just can't go wrong :)

And you have excellent taste in motorcycles as well. I have a 2009 R1200 GSA. Once a dirt rider always a dirt rider.
