Hi All...I'd like to mount a picatinny rail on my M1A to use as a bipod mounting point. I'm running a wood stock and I'm not interested in modifying (ie cutting or widening holes) in any way. I simply want to put the picatinny rail in place of the sling swivel mount. Can anyone recommended a specific rail/manufacturer that would fit the bill? I see that Sadlak has a nice looking mount but I'm having a hard time determining if a stock modification is required. Any help is appreciated.

Sadlak is pretty much your only "non-mod" option...
Even then still, you will have to remove the front sling rivets and enlarge the holes.....
Once the rivets are removed you just use the supplied hardware to attach the rail/swivel unit.

Both mount and attach pretty much the same.

I've probably put close to 1000 rounds through the rifle, and it's still on tight. No modifications. It just replaces the front sling swivel. My boyds stock didn't have hardware, so installation was extra easy.
