M1A Precision Challenge 1.5 MOA

So here it is folks, from a thread on the Main Battle Rifles forum and copying the format of the challenges in the Precision Rifles forum.

I will post challenge winners on this thread.

The range is hot...fire at will!

Rules:
- Challenge is open to all M1A pattern rifles
- To qualify, post a pic of 5 groups of 5 rounds each with group size of 1.5 MOA or under. Groups must be on the same piece of paper with no extra bullet holes and no cover-ups
- Pic must be posted with date of shoot, and description of rifle. Load data is optional.
- Pic must contain group size measurements, range of shoot and a clear reference measure (calipers, ruler, etc.)
- Range must be 100 yards/ meters or greater.

Dammit was out today, I had a few 5 shot groups that would of qualified, and the rest well let's say the coffee and tobacco took hold of my nerves lol.

Well I was thinking something like below (well except for the first and third targets). 5 targets and 5 shots per target on one piece of paper. I just use flipboard paper from Staples (50+ sheets for about $10), and either use the stick-on targets or I use marker to draw an aiming point.

Hey Rut thx - that was my almost stock Norc in a Blackfeather, shooting my pet reloads. Out of that powder though, on order but I'm going to try this with my second best load which uses Varget (ooh...scary...).

Looking forward to learning how those high end rigs like yours shoot (wish I could buy one...who needs a house) and how others squeeze a little more precision out of their rigs.

Tried some Varget myself for the first time the other day, not too bad, but I must of been doing it wrong.
Me and the gun both came home in one piece LOL

If folks like the challenge I don't think we need a cutoff. This is just for fun, learning and bragging rights.

Depending on the turn-out we can do an easier or harder challenge concurrently.

Should also give guys a good idea as to what works and what doesn't, load data etc....

So what would you iron-sighters think was a challenging but achievable level of precision? For me with iron-sights, I'd be lucky to be on paper. If its 1.5 MOA I can track 2 categories, iron sights versus open, else we can just start another Challenge thread.

I'd say 2, a consistent, repeatable 2MOA with irons might be challenging.

I shot just under 2MOA with my M305 after Hungry's clinic. From experience, I'll tell you it really helps to shoot the right kind of target. One you can use a consistent hold on. I like a large black circle to hold 6 o'clock.

Rodney - if we're going to chase each others groups at the club, I figured everyone can join in the fun. Hoping to get out on the weekend and have just finished 100 rounds of 168 grain goodness.
