Has anybody out there had any luck contacting Springfield about warranty issues? I have been trying for 6 months to any kind of a reply from them. I think i have a safety/warranty issue with my m1a.

contact your dealer, they should be able to point you to the warranty centre/importer. Dealing directly with Springfield is probably pointless because of issues with the boarder.

The rifle has soft bolt issues. It is part of a recall program that Springfield has. No dealer in Canada wants to touch it because of the age of the thing ( early to mid 80's). The recall is still in effectut nobody wants to talk to me

You have to go through F.N. Sports, which unfortunately is a division of
R. Nicholls. They are the only Canadian contact to Springfield. My M1A was sent back on warranty for EXACTLY the same problem. I had NO problems contacting Springfield- Donna Rawn will be you contact person, but F.N. Sports sends the rifles out in groups and then gets them back whenever they get a shipment from Springfield. Unfortunately F.N. Sports customer service is garbage. They keep saying "Springfield won't return our emails" which is B.S. because I can call Springfield and get through no problem, so maybe they should just pick up the phone.

Oh, and nobody ever asked about reloads or anything. The bolt issue is a lifetime warranty problem and the recall on them (if it is on the recall list) is permanent.

"...nobody ever asked about reloads or anything..." They very likely wouldn't, but using reloads voids the warrantee just the same. As daft as it is.

I called FN sports but they were no help at all. They indicated that as the rifle was not new that i was on my own. I"ll have to check that phone number but i think that is the one i've left 10 messages at.Thank's for the input guys. If any body has any more ideas lets hear them. Any body have a usgi bolt for sale? As for the reloads i haven't run any through to date but as you can't access 7.62 in Canada with out difficulty i am not going to have any choise.

i could be wrong. if so slap my a.. and call me judy. sprinfield's 100% waranty is for yanks only. i'm thinking they even get it if they bought it second hand and original. specialy now good luck getting springfield to abide to any out of u.s.a. waranties. call them, only a phone call.:)

Nonsense. I am telling you, my M1A was sent there recently and was made in the same 80s time period. I spoke to springfield and F.N. Sports sent it down for me. I am the thrid owner of the rifle. Someone is giving you the runaround or the policy has changed within the last 6 months. When you call F.N. Sports dial ext. 2281 and talk to Roy. He deals with servicing.

The "fine print" specifies that the warranty only applies to the original retail buyer but canadiangunuser's experience is very typical. If something is materially wrong with the rifle, Springfield Armory, Inc. will take care of the issue assuming the user didn't go full retard. scott.y. is right, the recall on specific M1A bolts made in the 1970s and 1980s has no deadline.
