I recently found this: ht tp://m249.us/home.php, a chassis system to make the 10/22 look like a LMG. But at $1,099 USD as kit, I thought it might be possible to cannibalize an airsoft M249 to built a 10/22 chassis for MUCH cheaper. At about $400-$600 for a new airsoft M249 (probably cheaper used or broken), you could have enough money left over to get a new chassis/outer receiver. Yes I realize it could need quite a bit of modification to work, but... Who wants a LMG (semi-auto/safe only) with 'hi' capacity mags (50 rounds drums), and cheap enough to shoot? I DO!!! Anybody willing to guinean pig it? (I would but I can't afford it right now.)
