M249 para ruger 10/22 stock conversion

That is one impressive kit. Looks like I have a new toy to start saving for.

I like it too and I think it would be a real head turner at the range, and even moreso, out in the field blasting gophers! Prepare for the local constabularly to ask questions when they see it though.

About the only thing I'm not crazy about is the way it looks when it's fitted with a mag other than the 10-round factory. I googled some photos and saw a few examples with a 30-round mag sticking out from underneath....it just ruins the look.

Any chance of bringing these in for a non-para build? I'd kind of like to kit one of these up to mimic a C9!:)

J-man....I'm there with ya.

That said, if you had a belt of dummy link hanging off the side, and a 200 round battle pack hanging below, that'd pretty much obscure the mag I think.

Properly accessorized, it'd be pretty cool!

You could get that MWG 50rd teardrop mag (http://www.rimfiresports.com/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=RSC&Product_Code=MWG022050) and put it inside a gutted magazine sort of like what this guy did (http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=264521&highlight=custom+magazine).

NS,

Genious! The battlepack might be the way forward on this. Does anyone know if this kit has a mounting point for a box? I can't find a clear enough photo on line to determine. I suppose with some tinkering, mounts could be built and as it would only have to support the weight of the box without ammo, it wouldn't have to be too robust.

Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I like the idea of a faux-C9A1. Longer barrel and non-para kit, swap butts and carry handle for a CF-style kit (airsoft perhaps?), susend a battle box (suplus store, Princess Auto?) and add an ELCAN't clone (ebay).

Time to pump out some 5.56 dummies. Anyone know where I can get enough link for about 8 inches of belt?:D

Hey Fab, when you're done your vacation, any chance you can bring in the non-para kit?

any update?

Wouldn't it be pretty hard to create a 30 rd mag for a 22 and maintain a straight body.
It's basically impossible to create a straight bodied rimfire magazine that actually feeds well. That's why all the 10/22 magazines you see on the market are curved (and why modern cartridges are of the rimless design).
