I believe he died of MS many years ago so expect to pay quite a bit for a signed one.
If I recall correctly, aside from being about as accurate a rifle as Springfield makes, the scope base was ahead of the curve. I handled one down at Camp Perry when Springfield was there for the nationals and it looked as though the scope base was held in place in the front like a recoil lug between the barrel and the action - again if I recall correctly.
mounting a scope on an M14 has always been a bit of a trick, but not with the White Feather. They have it mounted real well, so the scope would hold it's zero big time. I'm also fairly certain that they used a rear lugged receiver - and quite possibly front and rear lugged receiver. Sorry, I just cant recall for certain.
I'll toss in a word of caution if serious about this sort of rifle.... it's heavy. If you want to watch bean fields for deer or shoot at the range you're all good, but your gonna need a good strong back if you want to use it on a deer drive.
Then again as the saying goes... Only accurate rifles are interesting.

Both the M21 and M25 WF have a rear lugged reciever and i buy these rifle for range work at my range at the farm or at the club, i have a nice 6.5 pounds all dressed Forbes 30-06, Steyr scout 308 or my Benelli R1 338 mag all light rifles for hunting... JP.
