Hi guys.

Curious how the M3 clone adjustments work. I see most come with 1 click = 1/2 minute of angle windage and 1 minute of angle elevation turrets. Are there secondary adjustment mechanisms which are more sensitive in order to zero the scope? 1/2 min/angle seems far too coarse let alone 1 min/angle adjustments.

What is the advantage of these adjustments vs the M1's 1/4 min/angle turrets?

Thanks for your time.

The M3 turret was developed for the military as a sniper optic. The decision to go with 1 MOA adjustments was to simplify the sniper's life in high-stress situations by eliminating the need to deal with multiple complete turns and having to remember how many were made prior to settling on the correct adjustment. By keeping everything under 1 full revolution, it became a much simpler affair to know that things were dialed in correctly.

Interestingly, the M3 was never supposed to make it to the civilian market. There was a bit of an internal squabble at Leupold over this when it finally happened.
