My friend, a laid off from the auto industry is thinking of selling his CA M3 Grease Gun.

In unaltered ( except of course for the conversion to converted auto status )but good only condition it comes with a spare excellent condition barrel.

He needs to sell it and wants to know what I think its worth. I have not seen one for sale for probably 20 years so I am opening up the floor for opinions.

No photo and he lives an 18 hour drive from me so no photos to come.

I think it has to be worth $2000 but since it is only in good condition who knows

What do you guys think? I will pass the info on to him

Joe

I have a military appraisal book, unfortunately I don't have it with me. I'll try and remember to look it up and let you know.

Thanks but if you are refering to US prices they are mostly invalid here as far as MG's go. In the US the values are much higher than here depending on if they are fully transferable, dealer samples or post dealer samples . They can shoot them there and since they have property rights there ( we do not thanks to Joe Ghiz and Pierre Trudea ) there is little danger of future confiscation on the whim of government

One nutz had a M3 for sale on EE a year or two ago. He wanted $2300 for it if I recall correctly.

12(3) & 12(5) are a hit and miss. It is a very small market.

I bought my Greaser about 5+ years ago for $1200 and it came with 6 pinned mags, a sling and the original conical flash hider.

That was back when we could still get SAP's to take them to the range.

Today, that gun is likely not worth more than $1000 and even then it is a buyer's market. Unfortunately it would be worth more as a movie prop or as a dewat. :(

Yeah, I looked them up tonight, again I don't have the book in front of me but Excellent condition conversions were pushing 10k USD and down from there.
