M305 action jamming on the first and third rounds.

So I've fired my M305 plenty of times. I installed a promag stock, changed to a USGI op guide rod, and installed a scope mount with a 6X24 60mm Berska Tactical scope. Function tested and fired with all components installed and no issues.

Went to the range to sight in my scope and couldn't pull the action back. Figure I had jammed six rounds in the mag instead of five so removed mag pushed out a round reloaded and the action moved freely.

Fired the first round no trouble but notice the bolt was partially open when it try to load the second round. Pulled the action all the way back and the round fed that time. Fired again and everything moved and loaded the way its suppose to.

Fired what I thought was the second to last round ending being the last round which meant I did only have five round in the mag.

I check the next magazine ( 5/20 ) to ensure it too had five rounds, loaded it into the rifle and again the action was jamming. Take out the mag, take out one round, put the mag back in and the action moved smoothly and cocked, no problems.

Fired and partial open bolt again! Pull the action all the way back, it loads, fire and the last round loads fine.

This happens every time for the next two hours of shooting.

I take the rifle home to size it up and after testing with different ammo, without the scope mount, original op rod, original stock come to realize that the bolt is jamming on the rounds to right. By taking the first round out the second round is more the left.

I can see from testing at home the the bolt is indeed rubbing on the first round and is stopping the bolt from turning clock-wise as I pull back on the action. The second round doesn't jam because its more to the left and gives the bolt more room to turn.

So I know what the problem is but am lost to what caused it or how to fix it and need help from the community.

I know its not the mags, they work before and the issue is present in both. I know its not the mods because I've test fire previously with all parts installed and function tested after with all original parts, problem still present. I can't see anything wrong with the bolt, it moves freely and seats perfect when cocked.

If anyone has any ideas or is dealing with this issue themselves please post.

Thanks!

The screw was stuck out too far and effecting the bolts travel when I first installed it but I filed it down until it was recessed into the hole. Mags are the two originals that came with the rifle one 5/20 and one 5/5. They always work fine before and the problem occurs with both mags.

I removed all modded parts and installed the original stock and the problem persisted. I believe its an issue with the bolt itself. I have never taken it apart (only field strip for cleaning) and don't know enough about it to start trouble shooting

Gave it to my friend's dad, he's a former gun smith. I'll post the out come when/if he figures it out. Might help the next guy.

I used two different op rods in the function test with the same results. The mag seemed to be seated correctly but I no longer have the rifle here to size it up. I'll ask my friends dad to check it out though.
