M305 Action

I know its a military rifle so its going to be loose. My question is with the action opened by the action stop how much play (up and down) should there be in the action by cocking handle? My action has fair bit of play 1/8 of an inch. Is this normal?
Also the perkerasing is wearing off on the top of the receiver just by cycling the auction manually. I haven't even fired the gun yet.

Sounds normal. The operating rod and bolt lug must not disengage of course.

YEs it is a free floating firing pin.

A little op rod play and reciever finish wear on the op rod tracks is normal.
