M305 dvd

I tried to download it abou the same time this thred has started.
The whole thing stopped at 3.99 GB.
Did the same during the weekend.
Can't be the explorer, since I downloaded more than that off the net.

I'll try again tonight, and it should take about 20 hrs before I gat a go-nogo answer.
Will keep you posted.
 
Downloading from a linux server on my fiber edge and getting decent throughput rate of 2408 Kbps (aka 301 KBps). My download will take just shy of 4 hours at that rate.

Will post if I received full file in the a.m.
 
Well folks, DL reset by FTP server at 1.6 G. Not sure why.

I have a couple of locations at fiber edge. Going to try simultaneous DL from each and see where I get by mid day.
 
I managed to download the full file through IE by using ftp://ftp.servage.net as the url and entering cgn as the username and password. Once logged in I could see all the clinic files that are being hosted, right click on clinic.iso and choose copy, then go to your desktop, right click and choose paste. You can also drag and drop the file from IE to you desktop or another windows folder.

Good idea Dirt.

The link I included on the m14clinic download page is is just like the;
ftp://ftp.servage.net link you mentioned. All I did was follow the supposed internet standard, and apply the username and password in the link:

ftp://cgn:cgn@ftp.servage.net/clinic.iso

I wish I could figure this out and make it real easy for everyone.

If anyone is interested (doubtful), the other files I have hosted arejust regular links, and work as they are. I found out that PHP (common all over the net) limits file sizes to GB. That's why I had to use a FTP method.

I wonder if a torrent would be easier. Any of you folks familiar with torrent sharing?

I successfully downloaded and burned the iso to DVD last night using Dirt's instructions.

Only problem was that Nero said there was a discrepancy between something (sorry, I forget now and am at work) in the iso and did I want to fix or ignore it? I chose ignore and just burned it as is. Looks like it is the full thing.

Ok, I have downloaded the file onto my computer. The DVD software I have does not recognize the file.....what I do so I can view the video.....

It is an iso file - that is an image. Norton, Nero and other have virtual disks that you can install on your hardrive - it takes 3-4 minutes.
Load the iso file on those and you'll see it as it is- a dvd.
If you don;t have the soft for virtual drives, than just burn in on a dvd and you should be fine.

I just downloaded teh whole file..... burning now....

Another option you could go with is to split the iso into several smaller files using WinRAR so we could download those via HTTP instead of FTP. The only downside of this is whoever downloads the rar files will also need to install WinRAR (or other rar compatible software) to merge them back into a single iso.

The positive side is if your download stalls half way through you won't need to download everything again, just the last rar file.

Has anyone noticed the audio and video in the iso sometimes get out of synch or the audio skips every now and then? I'm just wondering if it's the iso or my burn?
 
Thanks for confirming brian ... on that note, does anyone have the original full length video in avi or wmv format? I've played around with converting video files to dvd format and I'd like to try to create a better quality dvd. I guess it all depends on if the problem is in the original movie or in the conversion process.

Sorry guys. The files I offer are those that I have. It looks as though the DVD I received may have issues. That, coupled with the truncated smaller video files, is making this file offering a fiasco.

I haven't watched the entire DVD myslef yet. I just assumed I had a good working version. I actually made som ecopies for a few folks here on CGN, and none have reported issues (maybe they haven't watched them either).

Maybe I should just take the DVD image off the website.
