M305 Fail to feed

Iv had my Norinco m305 for a few months now. I recently took it up north shooting and put a crate of norinco 7.62x51 through it. I noticed i had alot of fail to feed issues. The rifle was well greased and oiled, The rifle came with 1 5/20 mag and a 5/5. I also purchased 3 more mags online. All of them seem to have this random issue. There are times where it doesn't happens and other times it happens every mag.

Also when i cleaned the rifle i noticed alot of metal shavings from the rounds. When the bolt came forward if it didn't pickup the round it would shaved 2 lines into the case.

Also when it ejects a round it seems to not have much force behind it. My sks launchs rounds into the bush but the m305 puts its maybe 1 or 2 feet away.
 
might be the gas system needs to be opened up a little more seems like a short stroke.

I would cycle the firearm by hand to make sure it moves smoothly then open the gas 1 or 2 turns and see if that helps.

Inconsistant ammo could be the cause of this as well if they're loaded slightly diffren't I found americian egale 308 was really bad with that issuse.
 
just turn the screw on the band to the left to open it and to the right to close it. You don't want it full open as it will slam the rifle hard and can damage it under heavy loads and the other way it becomes a single shot rifle.
 
They gas system will have no effect on chambering rounds and having a failure to feed.
Once the bolt is tossed back to the rear, the gas system is irrelevant as it is the return spring taking over the cycle.

If your bolt is going all the way to the rear, the failure to feed is not a gas issue. However, as haha said, check the gas system if there are problems ejecting rounds. If the gas system is set to weak that can cause the lame ejections.

I have problems with my magazines, with the rivet + 5 rounds I basically need to hammer the magazine into place. I noticed in the beginning the mags were a fraction to low and the bolt would just skim along the top of the round.

If your mag has a forward and back play, then it is likely to be a mag issue. The contact, that rectangular metal piece sticking out behind the mag, to the magazine latch should not have play. I found this to be the source of my problems with FTF with my Norc.
