hi so I'm looking to cut my barrel down to 18 1/2" and need a flash suppresser and was told that most wont fit on Norinco barrels but was told you could take a 5.56mm vortex flash suppresser and bore it out and it would fit on it advice could help thanks.
 
That is correct... have barrel cut and threaded to 1/2" x 28 tpi, same as an AR thread pattern. Then you can bore out any AR flash hider... Dlask also sells some already bored out.
 
Skullboy did a thread a while ago and well damm letz just say I had to do the same thing to prevent the loss of my d!c%.

Best way to do it according to my machinist friend is to rim out the middle. But if you were drilling it I would do 3/8" or .375
