M305 Front sight vs National Match

Big difference in height for sure.

Isthe lower height sight on the left the NM and the right one a Norinco short rifle sight?

If I have it right and you have a 200 yard zero with normal come ups (10-13 from bottom), with the new lower sight you may not get your rear sight to go low enough for a 100 or 200 yard zero.

If I have it backwards, and the higher right sight is the NM,...then you will need a lot of come ups to zero compared to your original rear sight elevation setting making for a higher and poor quality cheek weld. Good luck sorting it out.

Guys looking for NM sights for shorties often buy the standard NM by mistake. Standard NM is for 22" , SAI bush rifle NM sight for shorties.
To me it looks like the sight on left is the NM and it appears it's for a 22" barrel

You might find you can't get the zero set correctly.

I did EXACTLY what 45ACPKING said people do.... Couldn't get the sight to zero properly. Ended up filing down the rear sight gear area a little to let the sight go down a little further. It was close enough without filling that I didn't have to take off hardly anything, and it worked. Still works with the scope mount on it too, IIRC (it's been a little while since it's been shot).

Either way, I ended up putting a new JRA barrel on it, full length, so I'm fine again. But I suspect you might have zero'ing problems with that bad boy....
