M305 gas plug stuck

Well, I totally screwed-up and stripped (rounded off) my gas plug trying to take it off. Then I got really mad and took pilers to it. It was on a spare barrel that I had sitting around for a while. It should not have been rusted on as it was unfired, but now it looks like I will need to cut it off (yes, I scewed it up that much :eek: ) any thoughts on how to best approach this? Anger management perhaps :redface: Maybe drill a hole right thru it and insert a rod to try again. Anybody have a spare 'rinco gas plug once I get this off?
 
I used to work as an auto tech. and have run up against some stubborn nuts.

I bet you can get it off. Worst case scenario and the way I'd progress; Vise grips, Vise, weld a nut on it. Finaly (if all else fails); put some heat to it, not propane or butane but oxy-acetylene (now your changing the metals structure so be darned careful when you shoot it.)

You could always grind/file two flats on it and use a smaller wrench to get it off. I would wd40 it first and give it a couple of taps on the head with a hammer and then try to wrench it off. Good luck.

Most good tool stores sell "stud removers" in various sizes. They slip over your item and are turned by a regular socket wrench. Cams inside the remover the grip the item to be removed. I've removed many stripped exhaust studs this way from Harley motors.
