M305 / M-14 ... new runs, new versions?

Any one have thoughts on possible/likely improvements in future shipments of M305 / M-14 rifles expected this year? Is there a 2010 version? Has anyone seen examples from the most recent run of these rifles? Are there any changes to quality or finish?

Any insights appreciated!
 
I have been holding out for one of the new ones from Marstar, because they supposed to be the new and improved M305. They are supposed to be in by June. I have been looking foward to having one, but if its not at my front door by the end of the Month then I will be cancelling my order, and buy from elsewhere.
 
I Just Got Mine

I just got my new Polytech M305 last week at Milarm in Edmonton. Shooting CCI 200 primers, 47.1 gr. Win 748, Sierra 150 spitzers and new Win brass. Using plastigage, a resized casing and just enought force to close bolt on casing. I also ground down the rim on another resized casing so that the extractor missed the rim entirely and the bolt would rest on the casing, again without too much force. The results were about the same as the (rough estimate) headspace between the bolt and casing was between .003 in. to .002 in.

I only have a Ruger mini-14 to compare, but the rifle shot very, very well with 60 rounds. Very, very clean barrel (very little residue or unburned powder). I'm impressed, I gotta say. :D :dancingbanana:

No doubt. I think I could probably live around the $1200-$1500 tho. The Doc's treatment, the requisite replacement bits and a Boyd's stock are gonna get you there on a Norc anyway.

I've never owned one myself, but if the Pedersoli pistols I played with at Milarm are any indication... *drool*. (Yes Mike, I know no one has confirmed Pedersoli, I'm generalizing about Italian craftmanship)

Once that kind of quality makes it's way into my lock-up, it's usually there for good.
 
So no one still has no idea when the Italian versions would be in?

In another thread, I was reading end of June!, but its getting quite close!!

Just an update, I researched a little more and decided to try to guage a little better, as in closing, I used the bolt (spring) force to close on the casing. Further I measured that there is about .003" ply on the bolt lugs to the rifle. Using plastigage again, and being very careful to close the bolt tightly against the bolt lug and the rifle, I measured a headspace between the casing and bolt of .011" to .014", based on three casings. The shot casings measure about .010 to .011" longer from the base to the shoulder (bottom).

I resized the casing with .011" less, and trimmed the top .007". With lotsa grinding, I then re-measured the headspace with the plastigage (two casings). The headspace between the bold and casing was now .001" to .0015". I am now going to reload five casings and shoot them repeatedly until failure to gauge the longevity and performance of the casings.
