m305/m14 light weight stocks?

That is a good point, but begs the question of why some people still choose to use an inferior measuring system.

I was raised on standard and had to learn metric for work. Once I understood metric I couldn't look at standard any more.

Because it's what they know. I think in Imperial.

Doesn't mean I can't work in Metric, just don't care to use it in day to day life.

I will always be 6ft 5 and 230lb . I was born in lbs and ozs and I get 65 mile per gallon from my car. I see no reason to change :)
I never fill in the metric crap on forms, gotta make a stand somewhere.
 
As a former steel fabricator/bridge builder, all our engineer drawings came in imperial (inches and thous) but had to be converted to metric for the shop floor. That was my responsibilty so my brain works in both :D
 
so money is being saved as we speak to purchase the black feather!!:sniper: now my question is for that stock, is there any way that i can change the bolt that holds the op rod guide to a thumb tighten bolt eg a butterfly ? just for easier cleaning and less tools to carry around, remember prepper here!:ninja:
 
Just go to home depot or something and find the right thread and thread length. I thought about doing that as well it's annoying finding a wrench every time I need to clean. You will love the stock. I got the magpul prs and a hogue grip for it and you also need a buffer tube. I have a direct connect sei good iron uscg brake on it and there's virtually no muzzle climb or recoil.

ya i may end up going to home depo or something to get a better bolt. as for the break what web site did u order the muzzle break from? im looking at flash suppressors because i dont care about the kick back on a rifle.

"...what muzzle jump is..." Rifle goes bang and the muzzle rises off target.
 
I didn't care about recoil either until I got the muzzle brake. It's not so much for recoil as it is for keeping on target after your shot. You can actually see where your bullet hits and have a quick follow-up shot. I ordered it from armtac.com. It works with the m305 threads and grooves so there's no need to re-thread the barrel.

makes sense but if im target shooting and want to have a quicker follow up shot id use a muzzle break right from m14.ca, thats just my 2 cents. but then again i could be wrong and just need to try it before i knock it!

The "best" muzzle brake made for the M14 family and especially effective for recoil and muzzle jump on a shorty M14 is hands down the Smith Enterprise Coast Guard Brake.

i was actually just reading up on that break as we speak, looks to be pretty good and fairly priced.
 
I called the guys at m14.ca they didn't have a muzzle brake available and you have to re-thread your barrel for the brake they have in the works. Smith Enterprises makes awesome muzzle brakes that are also specific for the m305. I don't think sunray was talking to you rob. It was a previous comment.

I can vouch for that it's awesome. A little bit pricey at 170$ plus tax/shipping but you definitely get what you pay for.
