m305/m14 stock question

Hello fellow Nuts,

Quick question i have a norinco m305 and i want to change it to a wodden stock is it possible to use a M1A 3 piece stock on it? I want retro look to use on my 42 willys sash scabbard.
 
Sorry thought since i was trying to install a surplus stock the ppl here were the ones to ask i appologize and will never post in here again with a surplus question again wow.
 
anything built for the m1a translates DIRECTLY to the 305, but you have to do the "popsicle mod" to stop the guide pin from falling out- as to where you get the 3 piece from, i'm unfamiliar with it- there's only the main stock and the upper handguard- i wouldn't bother replacing the upper handguard less'n yours is black or something( again, i haven't bought one in sometime) and you want a brown one- other than that, it's a DROP IN- and by using a m1a stock instead of an m14, you don't have to fill in the selector switch hole; however, i would also consider the BOYD'S stock as a lot of people on here have done that and are happy with the result
 
Right hand "rail" of the Norinco receiver isn't flat, and the stock needs relief on the right hand side to allow it so sit flat. If I were you I would trace the outline of the receiver on the stock, inlet it to sit flat, and bed with epoxy under that surface, the left rail and the heel. If you do a good job, you can't see it, and the receiver will sit like it should, even better if you can elevate the front of the receiver slightly to put the appropriate tension on the stock ferule to barrel band. I have an old post on here showing pictures of when I did it.
 
I picked up a boyds M1A stock and transfered 100% of my Norc metal into it vice the stock cap and the front sling swivel rivets as both these parts usually get damaged in the removal from the Norc stock.

There are some minor fitting/sanding issues to transfer all the metal parts into the M1A but they are very easy kindergarten level of difficulty fixes.
