M305 Mags

Unfortunately... Marstar's price is the going price and the only way to get them cheaper (that I know about) is to order them with the gun and save on the shipping...

The Equipment Exchange sometimes has them...

While you are waiting for those extra mags why not get yourself some inexpensive stripper clips. The Norinco m14 is equiped with handy stripper clip guides and since you are only loading 5 rds anyways why not go with stripper clips. A little practice is all it takes and it'll be much faster than tugging and pulling off those tight 5/20 mags.

Williams Arm's in Port Perry Ontario has 3 USGI 20 rounds in excellent condition for $80. each. Pricey but the real thing, they are marked by the US contractor.

Marstar mags (manufactured by ?)= $35
USGI mags= $80

Who manufactures the Marstar mags? Anyone have major feeding problems with the no-name brand mags? Which ones do you run? I know when I had a 1911 single stack I ran Shooting Star mags only, and they worked every time/all the time. Is this another case of, 'you get what you pay for' or are the USGI mags just over-priced?

Thanks for the response guys, its just good to know what's out there.

I had no problems with the marstar mags. I have seen much cheaper prices for 20 rd mags in the states however they would need to be blocked before imported to Canada.

The Americans would love to be able to get Norinco 20 rounders, the guys who have seen them say they are the functional equivalent of GI. Marstar's mags are Norinco, just like the rifles. The problem with GI mags from the US is that many of them are crappy knock-offs, and spotting the bad ones is the subject of many pages of in depth articles (Ask Different) .When it comes to the M14 we are very lucky to be able to get them and their mags and accessories so cheaply and easily. Many American shooters would love to have our access to these fine rifles at the bargain prices we pay.

I know that they're not in yet, but others have bought from Marstar and I was simply curious what they got with their rifles is all.

I got a 20/5 rounder with my Marstar M14...

Cheers

P.S. O'Kelly's Boys... The Norinco mags are top notch, save your cash for other things... You might even get burned with "fake" usgi mags, there are LOTS of crappy one's floating around... Buy from Marstar, be sure they are good...

Jay,

Ok, ok Norinco mags are just fine;)

With regard to the possibility of fake USGI mags...These ones are marked, 'BRW'. From what I understand, the fake ones don't have maker's marks.

What does the inside of your magwell look like after using the pinned 20/5 mags?

My 20/5 round M14 mags have the "long" follower... I also have some 5 round mags for "spare" parts that have the regular length follower... ha ha ha...

Cheers

I'd love to have the access to FAL's and AK's that American shooters have.

Oh wait... I can't.
