I was able to get a M1 garand rear sight for my M305 and went on to install it. I removed the stock one from the rifle and looked at it to see how it works. I looked up at fulton armory site to see how to put it back together the right way. After multiple attempts I still have problems. The elevation knob works fine but the windage knob would never get to the far ends of adjustments on both sides for sure. And it's also way too tight. I can't move it like i use too with the stock sights. It feels like something is binding but i can't figure out what it is. Also, I forgot to look at something before disassembly. When u turn the windage knob, does the small center screw turns with it or not? I believe that is part of my problem. I think it shouldn't turn to be able to have the full adjustment but i'm not sure. Fulton says to start by screwing the windage knob first all the way in until the block touches the right side. Basically it's all the way in until u can't screw no more. If i do this, the pinion screw can't reach the pinion so I tried with the base in the middle like if the sight was square with bore line. Still something too tight. It's not easy like the original was. Something is binding.:runaway: If anybody could tell me a way that this can be installed properly I would really appreciate that. By playing with this to try to solve my problem the threads of the pinion are coming round? Can't understand that either since they are so small where can they touch if they don't make contact with the pinion screw? I'm confused.:confused:

You may have that sloted, threaded sleave too tight. Back it off one or two turns and see how the windage knob works. Start to snug it up 1/4 turn at a time and see how the windage knob works, get a spot where it's not too tight or too loose. The windage knob is spring loaded so you can't have that sloted, threaded sleave on too tight because it will compress that spring washer and not allow the knob to turn. Hope that helps.
