M305 rebarrel to 7.62x39

maybe, but you also have to concern yourself with a new barrel, all the work involved with the shorter round, ( remember, their 7.62 is NOT the same as ours- ie .308 vs .311) and basically re-doing the entire rifle; it's a full blown CUSTOM job- you'll need a spacer in the mag to take up that extra space;different mainspring, maybe a whole different gas system or different piston( lighter) different sights- and that's just off the top of my head

Sorry for asking a "stupid question" NoBark. Your level of ignorance is outstanding.
This was one of those "what if" questions that are supposed to make forums fun and entertaining.
BTW, I already have an SKS, a M305 and others and have been in shooting sports for over 30 years.
If I wanted a Mini30 s**tbox I would buy one.
My thought was the ultimate cool M305 that could eat ex-Soviet ammo since milsurp 7.62 Nato is so hard to come by.

Nope, it is your level of ignorance that is in question here. You claim to have an M305 AND and SKS yet you clearly have no clue how these rifles are different and how the two cartridges in question also differ thus making the substitution of one into the other major surgery.

Not really, it is just a stupid question. Maybe it could be done but I can assure you it would be a total nightmare to do and would cost more than an M305 and an SKS combined and in the end what would you have? A very expensive, custom made, chinese origin rifle that NOBODY in their right mind would buy for anywhere near what it would cost to build.

But fear not, stupid questions are the meat and potatoes of the internet. My favourite example was some idiot who thought it would be a good idea to convert an SKS to 6.5 Grendel ..... just because it was technically possible to do.

You own an SKS and think a Mini30 is a piece of crap? So much fail here.
