Hey everyone, I bought an M305 in September and just came to realize that the barrel bore is not milled correctly in the receiver. I put about 20 rounds through it(cheap surplus) when i got it and i couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with it. I assumed it was just the cheap ammo, so i put it in my gun cabinet and didn't think about it because it started snowing. Anyways, today I went to put the CASM rail and scope i got for Christmas on it and low and behold the the center of the rail does not line up with the barrel at all, so much so that I can't see the right hand part of the front sight through the hole in the CASM rail. I tore the rifle down to see what i could see and it is so off to one side that the charging rod is scraping against the barrel. Just so happens i have a laser sight so i decided to run the laser down the peep hole in the rail and with a piece of paper up against the muzzle there is about an inch between where the laser hits the paper and the center line of the barrel. So the only reason for this i can think of for this is the Receiver is not milled correctly. Have any of you run into this? Before i get raped for not searching i found lots of threads for the barrel not being indexed properly but that is not my problem. Frankly I'm pissed, I just emailed the company i bought it from, hopefully I hear something back tomorrow. If not, does anyone know if this is repairable, or am I now the proud owner of a battle paperweight. I'll put up pictures tomorrow.

First time that I have heard of a m305 receiver with the barrel threads at an angle to the receiver axis.
Suppose it is possible.
Too bad that you bought the rifle in September, and didn't find out until now; might make it harder to return it.

Is the barrel seated flat against the receiver you should see a gap on one side Maybe the rear site pocket is machine out of spec?

Great news, said company will accept a warranty return. Getting it all packed up now. Its a good thing the old lady is nuts and makes me keep every box we've ever got "just in case"
