M305 scope mount

Im looking at mounting a scope on my 2013 M305, anyone out there have some experience with aftermarket mounts for the 305? I prefer a nice sold mount thats not going to move or interfere with the cycling(really goes without saying), any suggestions to save me some headache and time oh ya and money :)

M14.ca scope mount. Only downside is that you lose your iron sights and you will want to buy more of Frank's wares.
 
This mount is rock solid. Mount a decent optic and you won't mind the loss of the rear sight at all. And then you will want to get the rest of their accessories. I started with a short rail, then a long one and then the stock. Next will likely be the handguard.

Uh oh, I just ordered the short mount this week....sounds like history is about to repeat itself!
 
get the casm before the arms, or another quality mount that sits higher. This has been brought up numerous times. With the arms, chances are very good you will have extraction issues (like me and many others) with the empty hitting the bottom of the mount. Then yo will have to trim the extractor and ejector springs which is a pain in the ass of mounting/cutting/remounting/repeat.

Save yourself the hassle get the casm

Ok thanks for the expertise, and I am thinking of the steel vs the illuminum. Is it worth the extra $ and weight?

If you are going to deploy to the sandbox it may be worth getting the steel mount which is undoubtedly stronger :p. I've had the aluminum mount for 2 years and over 2k rounds and have had no issues...then again I don't throw my rifle around or let it tumble around in a HUMV or APC.
