Did a quick look, hopefully someone else hasn't posted something similar.

So my rig is a basic M305 long barrel, the mods are a op rod guide, archangel stock, and scope mount. I am pulling my optic and mounting a 3-9 Vortex Crossfire. Simply replacing the orphan leper scope on it now. Figured that with the great warranty of Vortex i would be safe with the ass kicking the 305 gives optics.

My question is around bore sighting, with the flash hider, auto action, and the height above bore for M305's ....how have people worked it out. I have a laser sighter....would not work in the flash hider, and a old bushnell bore sighter. What i did before, with limited success is to use a cleaning rod instead of a arbor (because of the length of the flash hider) and bore sighted with the bushnell that way....not very successful.

Thoughts.....

Never used a boresighter. I thought that they really only saved you a few rounds of ammo by getting your POA close to POI?

All I ever do when sighting in a new scope is to put up an extra large pizza box or large chunk of cardboard at 50 yards, put a 2" circle in the middle of it with a black marker and shoot. If you hit the box adjust accordingly 8 clicks of windage/elevation for each inch of both you are off and try again. If you don't hit the pizza box and are way off, then aim for the four corners of it until you are on paper and then adjust accordingly.

Sighted in my "new to me" m305 with a "new to me" crossfire2 today.
started at 25 yards. 5 shots later i moved out to 100. About 10 shots after that i hit the 200 yard gong.
It was very helpful having a friend dial in the turrets to poi while i held the gun starting at the original poa.
