Just wondering on what people are using for scope mounts on there m305's? I'm new to this rifle and have been looking around just wondering what you guys would recommend? Thanks!

I ordered a casm "s" I got a Ncstar on it now but thought the casm looked much stronger and way more rugged. They also make a casm gen 2 which is aluiminum and has a under rail opening for the peeps which the "s" (steel model) doesn't. Cheers

+1 on the CASM. 2,000 rounds later and still rock solid. The only downsides are that you lose your irons and your scope may sit a little high (if you are using one with a small, or no objective bell).

The only thing you want is a Casm from m14.ca
You'll lose your iron sights but if your planning to get a scope on it, you ll not use them anyway. The m305 can be hard on scope so don't buy a crappy mount. You also want to invest in some good rings for your scope. If your planning to buy that CASM mount and you don't have a op rod spring guide yet... Give their black arrow rod a try, that will improve your rifle accuracy a lot.
I prefer to have a standard m305 scoped and a short m305 with irons (or socom style front red dot)

And btw... Dont forget this rifle is not the best long range rifle available... If you want to shoot +500 yards target, do your wallet a favor and grab a good bolt action rifle. (But i know... This rifle is a classic and its so funny to shoot!!)

Mister donut didn't know it wasn't allowed to ask questions to see what people are running.. And I did see that thread!

I didn't want to look at photos wanted to talk to people and see what there opinions are..... Didn't see anything in the rules about that.

Yeah I have shorty so I was going to mount optics I was thinking short range something like 4x magnification. Still not too sure but I'm in the process of making it shoot better and my next add on was going to be some kind of mount for optics.

If a dedicated scoped rifle is the goal, the CASM mount is a good solid option. In my opinion it really only looks "###y" on a rifle in a chassis. It's also a PITA to swap out back n forth with irons.

The Arms 18 mount is also a pretty good option. With the availability of pro-mag knock-offs (old style spilt mounts), Mystic Precision usually has stock) the price is agreeable, and function is pretty close to to the original. But nothing really beats an original ARMS airborne mount!

If you want to have a rifle that you can remove the scope "willy-nilly" for load development etc. The Basset is the answer. I have one, and it really lives up to the hype!

I tend to like the look of the ARMS split mount, when not wearing a scope on the rifle.....

If you ain't spending at least $150-$300 you will have problems with the mount IMHO......

Pro-Mag makes a great copy of the ARMS 18 and SEI 2006. Maybe the finish is not as good but that's never been a worry for me. CASM makes a good mount as well from what I hear but I have never used or even held one my self so I can't comment on it. I have owned 4 SEI mounts 2006 x 2, 2024 and 2005 ACOG (currently have 2005 model) and they make top shelf stuff. If you can find one of there's, that would be my pick.

Thanks guys! Everyone on here has been a lot of help I really appreciate it! Heading up north for work tomorrow so I will have some down time in the evinings to do my research and thinking about what I would like to do with the rifle as far as mount wise..

Basset hands down. On and off quick quick and holds within 1 MOA of your zero. Also very very reasonably priced, and other than the ARMS 18, there's nothing lower. The CASM is great, it's just way too high.
